Do you think you can boost your immune system lines of defense?
You bet you can!
Our immune system is our body’s protection from outside invaders such as viruses, bacteria, fungi, and parasites. It is a complex system that is vital to survival. Keeping our immune system strong is how we manage infection.
There are Three Specific Immune System Lines of Defense
1. Your Skin and Mucous Membranes
Your skin is a thick and tough structure. Usually, no microorganism can cross it.
It makes you safe against all sorts of potential intruders. However, wounds, tick bites, or insect bites can cause a breach in this protective barrier. At a breach, pathogens can find their way toward the blood flow.
2. Your Innate Immune System
If a pathogen does breach the first line of defense and enters your body, it then has to face your internal defense mechanisms.
The innate immune system can recognize foreign cells or substances and destroy them. You must constantly keep your internal immune system strong with proper nutrition and can boost it even further by including high-quality supplements.
3. Your Adaptive Immune System
Your adaptive immune system is the last line of defense against pathogenic microbes. It is very specific and very effective. However, it can be slow to react when confronted with a pathogen it has never met before.
Once your adaptive immune system knows and can recognize a pathogen, it is very powerful and effective. It is responsible for the immunization process.
Is your immune system strong enough to take care of any exposure to infection? Or do these foreign invaders proliferate inside your body and start controlling you, for example, runny nose, cough, fever, chills, stomach or bowel issues?
COVID-19 is an example of a viral infection we know all too well. The speed at which COVID-19 transmits is one of the unique traits of this virus. When considering the speed at which it has traveled around the world, we need to remember that this speed does not slow down once the virus is in the body. This is one of the reasons we have seen such destruction to the human body and the loss of so many lives.
70%-80% of your immune system is inside your gut microbiome-intestinal system; hence, the more healthful and diverse your diet, the healthier your immune system. Keep in mind that our body is a living organism in which cells change regularly.

Additional Immune System Boosting Advice
Sugar feeds infection, any infection. Moderation is key, and when not feeling well, stay away from sugar as best you can.
Dark chocolate is one of the top five foods you should eat daily; it improves microcirculation. Eat 1 oz. (80-90% cocoa or the highest % you can eat and enjoy) daily.
If not feeling well, stay home to rest and hydrate for recovery, as well as to avoid spreading your infection to others.
An allergy is an example of your body’s overreaction to a foreign substance. Your body’s overreaction is an imbalance of the immune system. I encourage patients to work on their immune system instead of accepting their allergy (or allergies) as normal.
There are often times when your body needs help to thrive instead of survive. In these cases, I can help patients through lifestyle changes, herbal therapy, and whole food nutritional supplementation.
When I started utilizing MediHerb and Standard Process supplements, I saw significant changes in myself and my patients. The ingredients are of the highest quality, and when feeding the body the best ingredients, the body will heal. Standard Process has been in business since 1929, with decades of success.
Keeping the body healthy is a daily process. The body you have today is due to your past behavior and food intake. The body you’ll have tomorrow can change by the steps you take today to improve your life.
